On behalf of the youths of Item, and indeed the entire Item Okpi community, I, Godwin Iheke Ndukwe GeeOne, the National Youth Leader of our great land, wish to extend our deepest appreciation and heartfelt congratulations to our illustrious daughter, Miss Esther Okoronkwo, for her phenomenal
performance in yesterday’s historic match.
In what will go down as one of the most thrilling comebacks in recent Super Falcons history, Nigeria overturned a 2–0 deficit to defeat Morocco 3–2. And at the very heart of this unforgettable victory was our own sister Esther Okoronkwo, proudly wearing the number 6 jersey.
From the moment the second half began, her name was on the lips of commentators and fans alike. Her energy, her vision, her courage they lit up the pitch. From that crucial penalty when she carried with pride the hope of over 2 Million Nigerians on her small shoulder, to a perfectly taken free kick, and ultimately the decisive assist that sealed our victory, Miss Okoronkwo stood tall as a true game-changer. She was everywhere orchestrating play, inspiring her teammates, and lifting the spirit of millions of Nigerians watching across the globe.
This is more than football. This is about the pride of a people. This is about an Item daughter who carried the resilient spirit of “nde Item” the hopes of a nation and delivered with grace, passion, and excellence. You have made Item proud. You have made Abia State proud. You have made Nigeria proud.
